NGOCC CONDEMNS THE PRODUCTION AND CIRCULATION OF OBSCENE MATERALS
The Non-governmental Gender Organisations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC) expresses deep sadness and alarm over the proliferation of obscene content circulating in cyberspace. The deliberate creation and distribution of inappropriate videos highlight a troubling decline in moral values among some Zambians and NGOCC condemns these actions in the strongest of terms.
The continued circulation of such materials must be halted immediately to safeguard our moral integrity and societal well-being.
Additionally, NGOCC strongly encourages young people to seek alternative means of earning a livelihood rather than engaging in pornography. the pursuit of fame should never compromise one’s integrity. participating in the production and/or circulating of such obscene materials damages the moral fabric of our nation, contradicts our national values and principles and most importantly, undermines our identity as a Christian nation, guided by the constitution.
As Zambians the declaration of a Christian nation should be evident in our everyday conduct, both privately and publicly. while the circulation of these materials is deeply concerning, it also serves as a reflection of the moral decline taking place. There is an urgent need to curb these immoral practices before they escalate into a crisis.
We must revisit our values and principles at every level, individual, household, community and national to ensure they align with the principles outlined in the constitution. As a nation, we must be proactive in protecting our children and society from exposure to content intended to corrupt morals.
NGOCC urges the law enforcement agencies to get to the bottom of these acts and bring the culprits to book. The continued circulation of these materials needs to be stopped as a matter of urgency.
