NGOCC ELECTS A NEW BOARD OF GOVERNORS
Ms. Beauty Katebe has been elected as the new NGOCC Board of Governors Chairperson. She was elected at the 23rd NGOCC General Assembly held at Andrews Motel, in Lusaka from 22nd November to 23rd November 2024. The full list of the NGOCC Board of Governors for the period November 2024- November 2027 is as follows:
1. Chairperson – Ms. Beauty Katebe
2. Vice Chairperson -Ms. Mwaka Mulenga
3. Secretary -Ms. Faides Tembatemba
4. Treasurer -Ms. Miyoba Munkombwe Mweendo
5. Publicity Secretary -Ms. Leah Diana Mitaba Moonga
6. Community-Based Organisation Category (female)-Ms. Irene Musopelo
7. Community-Based Organisation Category (male)-Mr. Jackson Kesa
8. Senior Citizen Category -Ms. Martha Charity Simukonda
9. Youth Category -Ms. Taonga Zulu

Editor’s Note: The Non-governmental Gender Organizations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC) is an umbrella organization coordinating and strengthening member Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs), Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs), and Community-Based Organisation (CBOs) addressing gender and development through capacity building, networking, communication and advocacy. Established by a few Zambian gender focused organisations in 1985 after the United Nations Conference on Women held in Nairobi, Kenya, NGOCC is now acknowledged as the focal point of the women’s movement. As a network organisation, NGOCC has a membership of 111 Member Organizations spread across the 10 Provinces of Zambia.
NGOCC holds its General Assembly every three years. The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the organisation. In between the general elections, the Board of Governors provide strategic policy direction to Secretariat.
