NGOCC Members Visit Cancer Diseases Hospital

NGOCC members visit Lusaka’s cancer Hospital
…to mark the International Women’s Day week

NGOCC Board Chairperson, Ms. Grace M. Sinkamba this morning led Lusaka Based Member Organisations to visit the Cancer Diseases Hospital at the University Teaching Hospital to mark the International Women’s week.

The visit was among other aimed at establishing the status of the facility, especially drug availability.

Speaking during the visit, Cancer Diseases Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent, – Dr. Susan Chitonge Musadabwe- Chikuni said 60 percent of cases at the cancer hospital were women because of cervical cancer.

She said however government was committed to ensure that all the facilities at the hospital were functional.

The NGOCC Member Organisations comprised the Zambia Union of Nurses Organisation (ZUNO), Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), Kwashamukwenu, Girl Guides Association of Zambia (GGAZ), Lusaka Muslim Women (LUMUWO), Zambia Alliance of Women (ZAW)
